Privacy
What we do with the information you send.
Contact and enquiries
The contact form on this website does not transmit or store what you type on the website itself. Choosing “Open email to send” simply opens a message in your own email application, already filled in with the details you entered. You decide whether to send it.
Once an email is sent to Benjamin@companiontechnologies.co.uk, Companion Technologies Ltd processes that correspondence in order to read it, respond to it and follow it up where appropriate.
For ordinary business, research and general enquiries, the lawful basis we currently rely on is legitimate interests: our legitimate interest in receiving and responding to enquiries and managing genuine business and research contact. This does not extend to marketing consent or to anything beyond that ordinary correspondence.
Email and related service providers may process the correspondence as necessary to deliver and store email.
Sensitive information
Please do not include medical records, diagnoses or other sensitive personal information in a first enquiry through this website. If sensitive information genuinely becomes necessary, an appropriate route can be agreed first.
Research surveys
Our two research surveys are hosted externally on Tally and open outside this website. The purpose of each survey, and what it asks of you, is described on the relevant survey itself.
Please avoid entering names or other identifying details into free-text answers unless they are specifically required. Because free-text answers can contain identifying information, we do not claim that every survey response is fully anonymous.
Tally provides the external survey platform and processes information in line with its own privacy terms, as applicable.
How long information is kept
Enquiry correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage any necessary follow-up and meet applicable legal and record-keeping needs. After that it should be deleted, or kept only where there is a justified reason to do so.
For survey data, how long information is kept depends on the specific research purpose and the information given with that survey.
Sharing
Personal information is not sold. It may be processed by the service providers needed for email, website operation or survey delivery, or disclosed where we are required to do so by law.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis involved, you may have rights including access to information held about you, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and objection.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing.
Questions and requests should be sent to Benjamin@companiontechnologies.co.uk.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
